Security Tips
Security tips when using payD
- Make sure you are dealing with a legitimate e-commerce site operated by a reputable merchant
- Is the website secure? Look at the Web address. It should start with https:// and there should be a ‘closed padlock’ symbol in the browser window (usually the top or bottom left corner).
- Only do business with companies that you are familiar with
- If the company is unfamiliar to you then do your homework before buying its products.
- Never enter your PIN into your mobile phone unless you have initiated a payD transaction and have been prompted to do so by a message from payD. (It will be within a few seconds of initiating the transaction on your part. Do not enter the PIN if a request comes hours later.)
- Make sure that the last four digits of your card number are displayed in the message from payD.
- Make sure the transaction amount is correct.
- Make sure the merchant name is correct.
- Make sure no one is watching you.
- Never enter your PIN on someone else’s phone.
